HONG KONG THROUGH A MOBILITY LENS

With the recent news about Shanghai becoming a free-trade zone in China, some have speculated on Hong Kong’s relative status as a business centre – and whether it will lose out in competitiveness to its northern neighbor.

However, as I recently discussed on a Hong Kong business radio program, RTHK3's “Money for Nothing”, I believe that Hong Kong is uniquely positioned as a strong corporate center and a prime location in the region for businesses to tap into other Asian markets. Having moved 85% of Fortune 500 companies, and with nearly 40 decades of experience working in Asian markets, AGS notes that Hong Kong is still one of the largest and most robust mobility markets in Asia. In particular, we have seen growth in the legal industry that reflects a maturing of the professional services infrastructure – a trend we expect to continue in the future.

Picnic in the Park (PIP), Hong Kong’s largest live music and dance festival, is fast approaching! Bringing in around 500 performers, we’re looking forward to an afternoon that rocks to the beat of a worthy cause: money raised will go to support Hong Kong’s youth through the Hong Kong Student Aid Society, Hong Chi Children’s Home and Kids4Kids. AGS Four Winds is proud to partner with PIP for the sixth year in a row, to help them move and set up in Discovery Bay, and we hope you’ll join us on November 2, 2013 at DB’s Siena Park.

Boxing for a good cause – that’s the essence of the upcoming 11th annual Breakthrough Boxing fight night, hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. Join us for cocktails and a three-course dinner at the Hong Kong Football Club, followed by six pro-am fights! Proceeds go to Operation Breakthrough, which uses sport as a means to help and positively reinforce young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. We’re proud to operationally support this great event and to have been their logistics partner for over ten years now. See you on Saturday, November 16th 2013 at the Hong Kong Football Club!

AGS Four Winds was asked to partner with the Foreign Correspondents’ Club Charity Ball for the second year in a row, which took place on October 5, 2013. We are proud to have been their Diamond Logistics Sponsor for the largest charity event in Asia, helping set up the Ball and moving the auction items, such as this year’s highlight 1978 Harley Davidson motorcycle which sold for HK$275,000! Proceeds go to Po Leung Kuk programs, supporting Hong Kong’s disadvantaged youth.
