The certification is overseen by FIDI, the global alliance of international moving and relocation companies. The trusted red and black FAIM logo signals to families and businesses wanting to relocate to, from, or within Algeria that AGS abides by international quality standards.

Algeria’s relocation powerhouse

Established in 2005, AGS Algeria mainly operates in the country’s capital, Algiers, where most foreign residents stay. Because most of the city is built on hilly terrain with narrow streets, heavy goods vehicles and containers are not allowed during the day. They are also impossible to use in residential areas.

But despite these challenges, AGS Algeria is committed to high-quality service. Alexandre and his team take care of all the customs clearance on behalf of their clients and facilitate an average of 150 moves per year.

They use smaller vehicles in the city, and moving coordinators provide the most personalized service possible, covering everything from office moves and factory moves to shipments for NGOs and embassies. They are also bilingual in French and Arabic, with many mastering English.

Meeting the golden benchmark

AGS Algeria receives FAIM certificationFor Alexandre, meeting the conditions of the FAIM certification occurred naturally. “As a branch of the AGS network, we already comply with the group’s [high] quality standards,” he explained, “[But] this process allowed us to formalise and clarify how we have been working and made us more rigorous internally.”

As a FAIM holder, AGS Algeria has also committed to maintain the FAIM Quality Standard by meeting over 200 defined quality points. These cover all aspects of the company’s operations, including service quality, supply chain management, data protection, and managerial ethics. While on-site audits happen every three years by  internationally acclaimed EY, the FAIM standard also encourages its holders to strengthen their oversight by requiring yearly self-assessments.

To guarantee that FIDI affiliates are financially sound, they must also submit financial documents annually to prove they are creditworthy and can pay their bills – an important tool to build customer trust.

For Alexandre, becoming FAIM certified was an organic progression intended to show the world that AGS Algeria is at the top of its game: “We decided to obtain this certificate to be recognized as a quality player on the Algerian market, capable of offering a service of an international calibre.”

At AGS Algeria, one fundamental goal supports our actions: the complete satisfaction of our clients. https://www.agsmovers.com/news/at-ags-algeria-one-fundamental-goal-supports-our-actions-the-complete-satisfaction-of-our-clients/ Sun, 05 Apr 2020 09:55:14 +0000 https://www.agsmovers.com/news/ags-algerie-la-satisfaction-de-nos-clients-est-au-coeur-de-notre-metier/ At AGS our clients come first and we always go the extra mile to ensure excellent services, whatever the circumstances. An example is the enclosed testimonial, addressed to Michel Giovannucci, the AGS Algeria country manager.

I would like to express my full satisfaction with AGS Algeria’s services for our move to Algiers. In particular, I thank you for having mobilised your entire team for this operation even as movement restriction measures due to COVID-19 were already in place in Algeria, and as my wife and I were confined in France and unable to come to Algiers for this move. Your know-how shows that your clients’ total satisfaction is your priority. This deserves the greatest attention. Be sure that I will strongly recommend AGS Algiers to my friends and family.

Kind regards.
C.R

A high-level manager who cares https://www.agsmovers.com/news/a-high-level-manager-who-cares/ Thu, 10 Aug 2017 12:59:34 +0000 https://www.agsmovers.com/?p=20028 Michel Giovannucci took up the management position at AGS Movers Algeria in January 2016, and immediately became fond of the AGS team who works under his leadership. Michel, who has always had an interest in people, particularly took notice of the domestic worker, Kheira Sahnoune’s circumstances.

Kheira, a 54 year old woman, was divorced and has been working at AGS Algeria since 2004. She has three children and suffers from health problems that require treatment and physiotherapy. Her health issues are aggravated by the fact that her house has no heating and winter temperatures in Algeria can sometimes drop to five degrees Celsius which can exacerbate her condition.
Michel immediately recognised Kheira’s need and decided to lend a helping hand. With the help of AGS Algeria, Michel had a gas stove and a refrigerator installed in Kheira’s home.

This Branch Manager finds it normal to lend a helping hand whenever possible: “Kheira Sahnoune devoted her life to raising her children and, despite her very difficult situation, succeeded in getting them to university. She’s a saint!”, Michel said.”If you want to be respected, you have to respect the staff and set an example.”

AGS staff member nominated as top student at recent FIDI seminar https://www.agsmovers.com/news/ags-staff-member-nominated-as-top-student-at-recent-fidi-seminar/ Wed, 26 Mar 2014 13:55:46 +0000 https://www.agsmovers.com/ags-staff-member-nominated-as-top-student-at-recent-fidi-seminar/ When a FIDI Academy training seminar was hosted in Prague in February – for 16 top-performing students from AGS and 14 international colleagues from other FIDI affiliated companies – it was AGS’ Louis Thiercelin who was formally acknowledged by the FIDI Academy as the top student present.

The comprehensive five-day ‘Essentials in International Moving’ seminar consisted of a classroom session, covering everything from professional packing services and loading to freight forwarding, quotations and contracts and insurance.  Site visits to sea, railway and air-freight terminals were also included.

At the time of the course Louis was Deputy Branch Manager for AGS Movers Morocco (he has since moved to AGS Movers Algeria), and what makes his achievement even more remarkable is that this was the first such FIDI Academy seminar he had attended.

“I was very proud that amongst other competitors it was an employee from AGS who was selected as the top student,” says Louis of the recognition. “What made that possible is the fact that AGS’ Future Branch Managers’ Training schedule is very broad: we really see all aspects of the removal industry and that helps in the FIDI Academy.”

Chantal Fera, FIDI Academy’s manager, stresses the importance of these seminars, which are held around four times a year (depending on demand).

“The FIDI Academy training seminars are unique because they are developed and delivered by industry experts,” she explains.

“Participants gain not only knowledge in all areas of international moving but also they do share their experience with 30 international colleagues and they make friends for life – which also means future business opportunities with trustful agents they know and they have worked with.”

AGS Morocco’s branch manager, Jean-Noël Boulnois, also congratulated Louis and his colleague Emilie Ducert – who participated in the same seminar and also received the FIDI EiM diploma.

“As AGS Morocco’s Branch Manager, I am of course proud of Louis; his success reflects the good training he was delivered by the branch”, says Jean-Noël. “The whole team of AGS Morocco congratulates and thanks them for representing us with brio”.
