When AGS Togo driver Lambert retired after 24 years of unbroken service, it was the first going away party Branch Manager Emilie Ducert had had to organise in a long time.

An AGS veteran of 12 years herself, she explains: “Our employees are very loyal. Of the permanent staff, there is not one that has been here for less than a decade.”

Long-serving employees like Emilie and Lambert are found throughout the AGS Group. They play a vital role in our organisation, using their years of experience to anticipate potential issues to the benefit of our clients.

“Customers also love to see the person who moved them into their house when they are moving out again. It creates a sense of trust. In that sense, the veterans play an important role as ambassadors for the business,” Emilie adds.

But building customer relationships is only part of why we value our seasoned staff. They are also crucial in training the younger generation, imparting priceless expertise that would normally take years to accumulate. This is how we ensure that when the next Lambert is ready to retire, there is always someone ready to fill his capable shoes.

Emilie believes that passing the baton is a unique part of AGS culture and a big contributor to the feeling of family that pervades the Togo branch: “We have a very close relationship with the staff. Whenever we can, we help them. It’s this spirit that they appreciate and, if you ask me, it’s why our going-away parties are few and far between.”

Annie Majos decorated as Knight of the National Order of Merit https://www.agsmovers.com/news/annie-majos-decorated-as-knight-of-the-national-order-of-merit/ https://www.agsmovers.com/news/annie-majos-decorated-as-knight-of-the-national-order-of-merit/#respond Tue, 13 Oct 2015 13:56:17 +0000 https://www.agsmovers.com/annie-majos-decorated-as-knight-of-the-national-order-of-merit/ AGS is proud to announce that our former Branch Manager for Togo, Annie Majos, has been named as a Knight of the National Order of Merit (a distinguished French national award). Here we feature comments from France’s ambassador to Togo and Annie’s reaction to the award.

Annie received this award in a ceremony on September 24, in Togo’s capital city of Lomé.

Her brilliant Franco-international career and dedication towards France was emphasized by the French Ambassador in Togo, Mr. Marc Fonbaustier.

After joining the AGS Group in Mayotte in 1990, Annie contributed to the development of two other AGS branches in Cameroon and Togo. She retired in February 2015 after 16 years of service at AGS Togo – of which nearly 13 was as Branch Manager.

According to Mr Fonbaustier, Annie has always been known unanimously “for her personality, her kindness, her radiance”.

Her support and patronage operations in the cultural and sporting fields; her time in the local chapter of the Foreign Trade Advisors for France; her civic commitment and her various activities conducted within the French Foreign Union (UFE) have been particularly appreciated by her associates.

While Annie says she was initially surprised when she learned of her appointment, she felt a great satisfaction during the ceremony:

“I am delighted to receive such a decoration – it is a recognition of my entire professional career.”

AGS congratulates Annie on her award, and we wish to thank her again for her many years of loyal service to the AGS Group.

AGS managers appointed as French foreign trade advisors https://www.agsmovers.com/news/ags-managers-appointed-as-french-foreign-trade-advisors/ https://www.agsmovers.com/news/ags-managers-appointed-as-french-foreign-trade-advisors/#respond Tue, 13 Oct 2015 13:56:17 +0000 https://www.agsmovers.com/ags-managers-appointed-as-french-foreign-trade-advisors/ AGS is proud to announce the appointment of two of our African branch managers as Foreign Trade Advisors for France (CCE): AGS Movers Zambia’s Branch Manager, Carole-Anne Duchet and AGS Movers Togo’s Branch Manager, Joele Luaces.

Both Carole-Anne and Joele have introduced a CCE chapter in their country of residence, effective from 1 July. During the course of their mission they will have the opportunity to provide assistance to France’s corporates, investors and compatriots looking to establish themselves in Zambia and Togo.

They will also attend bi-monthly meetings with various collective and personal objectives.

Joele explains that she particularly wishes to engage in “promoting Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) internships and raising French young graduates’ awareness of international careers.”

Carole-Anne, meanwhile, says that she approaches this appointment with the goal of “joining a stimulating group of entrepreneurs having a deep knowledge of the market, and to promote Zambia to potential investors.”

Both agree that they have been honored by their CCE appointments, which rewards their commitments abroad.

“This validates six great years of expatriation and confirms my international career choice,” says Joele.

These appointments also demonstrate the involvement of the AGS Group on the international stage. Carole-Anne and Joele have joined the pioneering CCE representatives in the AGS Group, including:

  • Alain Taïeb, AGS Group Chairman.
  • Paul Massardier, AGS Group President of Operations.
  • Joëlle Castro, AGS Group General Director.
  • Cédric Castro, AGS Group Managing Director.
  • Grégory Seitz, AGS Movers Hong Kong Branch Manager.

We congratulate Carole-Anne and Joele on these appointments and wish them both the very best in their new roles!
